so after many trivial hours spent trying to reserve a spot on a train to venice we sadly discovered that our coveted eurorails will NOT be working as supposedly (and I guess everyone knows this...) you are to reserve these spots WEEKS in advance if you are using a eurorail. We quickly cancelled them and will get 85% of our money back when we return to the great north, and though it is not all our money it will cover our ticket to Rome which we scheduled in the midst of this mini crisis. The new itinerary is Paris till the 24th, on which we will set off for Rome at 18:30 and arrive on the morning of the 25th.
On a much happier note, we are renting bikes today and searching for these supposed beaches along the Seine. Oh and last night we sat under the Eiffel Tower and watched a lovely light show whilst eating some delicieux french pastries.
Off for now! Hart and Max arrive tomorrow so that should be fun!!
Lots of love, El and Jo
Hi Girls
ReplyDeleteThat is too bad about the Eurail passes.
Will get wom to call agent
Sounds like Paris is great and you are finding your way around the city.
Have a croissant and a baguette for me. The baguette goes particularly well with some Camembert cheese as I recall...
Did you find the beaches. Will you also look for the site of the Moulin Rouge?
weeks in advance? we reserved seats maximum a day in advance... but the bikes sound fun!! be careful (traffic does go in the other direction)
