last full day in paris

Today is our last full day in paris, sigh, but then we are onto Rome to begin our contiki tour which we are both very excited for, weve grown quite tired of the metro system and very much look forward to a bus escorting us around. Today we are heading to the Musee Orsay, modern art museum and then petit palais to view the YSL exhibition. then we are off to do some well deserved shopping damage. Ps be expecting packages in the mail, as we are sending some of our clothes back as we packed far too many unnecessary articles of clothing..too many socks etc. Our train leaves tomorrow night at 6:30pm, so we may or may not be able to message you all before we arrive in Rome, if not, then Ciao Bella!

moving time

Allo Allo, sadly we've been very hectic and have not been able to update the blog, but i suppose thats a sign we're having lots and lots of fun :) Since we all last chatted El and I have accomplished a lot... on the 19th we walked along the Seine trying to find a beach because supposedly they turn into beaches in the summer. After about and hour of searching we discovered that they don't turn into beaches till the 20th...ya tad embarrassing. Anywho, we decided we'd go to Notre Dame instead, and silly me thought there'd be a dress code so wore jeans and a shoulder covering shirt, keep in mind it was pushing 38 degrees that day...There was no dress code, we actually saw bootie shorts in front of the alter.
That afternoon Jo went to the Hotel Invalides to see Napoleans tomb and some other army memorobilia, very very cool. That night we sat under the Eiffel tower and felt quite Parisien sippping wine and munching on baguette (ps they actually love their baguette here, kinda funny).
Yesterday, we decided to take things easy and walk around for a bit, lying in the Jardins de Tulleries and walking along the Seine. Tanning under the Eiffel Tower is something everyone must try :) That afternoon, Jo went to the Pantheon and saw Marie Curie's tomb along with, Voltaire, Victor Hugo, and the architect who actually designed the Pantheon. It was breathtaking to say the least.
Both the Harts and Max got in yesterday around four so we spent some time catching up and then that night had a picnic under the Eiffel Tower. We've met some really great people and are having an awesome time! Sadly we have to change hostels today which will be inconvenient but whatever, new setting new people :)
It's to the new place and then the Louvre, we'll try to keep updating but as the other location doesn't have free wifi we may not be as regular!
Lots of Love,
El and Jo

sad news, good news...

so after many trivial hours spent trying to reserve a spot on a train to venice we sadly discovered that our coveted eurorails will NOT be working as supposedly (and I guess everyone knows this...) you are to reserve these spots WEEKS in advance if you are using a eurorail. We quickly cancelled them and will get 85% of our money back when we return to the great north, and though it is not all our money it will cover our ticket to Rome which we scheduled in the midst of this mini crisis. The new itinerary is Paris till the 24th, on which we will set off for Rome at 18:30 and arrive on the morning of the 25th.
On a much happier note, we are renting bikes today and searching for these supposed beaches along the Seine. Oh and last night we sat under the Eiffel Tower and watched a lovely light show whilst eating some delicieux french pastries.
Off for now! Hart and Max arrive tomorrow so that should be fun!!
Lots of love, El and Jo

PARIS!!

Hey everyone, aka Ken and Rosanne and hopefully some other sad individuals...today we went to the Eiffel Tower!! So purdy, got overwhelmed by the crowds so came back to our hostel and found a local grocery store along the wayy. Tomorrow we're going to Montmarte, Moulin Rouge and Sacre Couer, very exciting!! We'll be in more contact soon!
